What they are

Recreation sites are camping and day-use areas managed by Recreation Sites and Trails BC, usually on Crown land and often down forest service roads. Some charge a fee, paid to the site operator, and some are free.

The rules, from the province

These come from the official rules.

  • Stay no more than 14 consecutive days
  • Pay camping fees to the site operator where they apply
  • Keep campfires small (0.5 m x 0.5 m) with 8 litres of water and hand tools close by
  • Never leave a fire unattended
  • Quiet time is 11 pm to 7 am
  • Return the site to how you found it

BC fire prohibitions and restrictions apply and can close campfires even at a site that normally allows them.
